MakeCall FAQ
Online Calling, Number Privacy & Acceptable Use – Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about how MakeCall's browser-based online calling platform works in India, what actually happens to your number when you call, and what MakeCall does not support — including unknown, private, secret, anonymous and prank calling.
Private, Unknown and Secret Calls: What You Should Know
People search for things like "unknown call", "secret call", "private calling" or "कॉल का पता न चले" for very different reasons — some want to stop their personal number from being shared, some are curious about hidden-number services, and some are asking whether an app can make a call look completely untraceable. These are not all the same thing, so here is what each term actually means and what MakeCall does:
- Private calling usually means the person you call doesn't see your personal mobile number. MakeCall does this by design — every call is routed through MakeCall's own virtual number, not your SIM.
- Unknown caller ID / hidden number call usually means the recipient's phone shows "Unknown" or no number at all. MakeCall does not do this — the recipient always sees a real, valid virtual number.
- Secret or anonymous calling usually implies the call can't be traced back to the caller. MakeCall requires sign-in and keeps call records for billing and support, so calls are never anonymous or untraceable.
- Internet / browser calling is simply what MakeCall is: a web dialer that places real voice calls to mobile and landline (PSTN) numbers over the internet, from your browser, without an app.
In short: MakeCall gives you genuine number privacy (your personal number is never revealed), but it is not an anonymous-calling, number-spoofing or prank-calling service.
You might have typed this question in Hindi as "कॉल का पता न चले", or in Roman script as "call ka pata na chale", "bina number dikhaye call", "number chhupa kar call" or "secret call kaise kare" — they're all really asking the same thing, and the Hindi/Hinglish FAQ section below answers it directly.

Number Privacy, Unknown Calls & Prank Calls
Can I make an unknown, private or secret call with MakeCall?
MakeCall is an online calling platform for making regular voice calls to mobile and landline numbers — it is not an anonymous or secret-calling service. When you call someone through MakeCall, the person you're calling sees a MakeCall-assigned virtual number, not your personal mobile number. That gives you a genuine layer of number privacy, but you cannot make the call appear as "Unknown", blank or untraceable, and you cannot choose or spoof a custom caller ID.
Does MakeCall hide or mask my personal phone number from the person I call?
Yes, in the sense that your personal mobile number is never shown to the person you call — calls are routed through MakeCall's own virtual number, not your SIM number. This is different from a "hidden number" or "unknown caller" service: the recipient still sees a real, valid number on their phone, just not yours.
Can I use MakeCall to make anonymous calls that cannot be traced back to me?
No. MakeCall requires sign-in and links every call to your account for billing, and call records are retained as described in our Privacy Policy. It is not designed for anonymous or untraceable calling.
Can I use MakeCall for prank calls?
No. MakeCall's Terms & Conditions explicitly prohibit prank, hoax, harassing or misleading calls. MakeCall is intended for genuine personal and business communication, not entertainment-style prank calling.
गोपनीयता संबंधी सवाल (Privacy FAQs in Hindi & Hinglish)
Bina number dikhaye ya number chhupa kar call — kya MakeCall se ho sakta hai?
MakeCall se call karne par aapka personal mobile number receiver ko nahi dikhta – uske jagah MakeCall ka apna virtual number dikhta hai, isliye number privacy real hai. Lekin yeh "hidden number call" ya "unknown number se call" jaisi service nahi hai: receiver ko ek valid number dikhta hai (blank ya "Unknown" nahi), aur account sign-in + call history ki wajah se call anonymous ya untraceable nahi hoti.
क्या MakeCall प्रैंक कॉल के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है? (Prank call kaise kare)
